Refer students to their advisors for problems accessing textbooks or eBooks. If students are late in obtaining their books, the advisor, in some cases, may help the student decide whether to drop the course and take it later.

For access to a text for a course you teach, contact your course scheduler at Facultyscheduler@uagc.edu.

For additional support for students, it will help to determine the format or type of resource they need. The required texts can be found in the Canvas Classroom under Modules / Required Resources. There are currently three main types of required textbooks in courses: hardcopy texts obtained through the online bookstore, eBooks integrated into the online class through Constellation, and eBooks hosted on third-party platforms such as VitalSource, RedShelf, etc. There are also digital course materials that students can access through the library. To determine which type is being used, see the sample formatting for each textbook type below, along with support options for each type.

Constellation Course Digital Materials (CDM). These will be formatted:

Baack, D., Reilly, M., & Minnick, C., & (2014). The five functions of effective management (2nd ed.) [Electronic version]. Retrieved from ...

If there are access issues, students should call Tech Support at 800-285-9796 and select the option for CDM Tech Support.

Vital Source, RedShelf, and other third-party eBook platforms, such as Pearson MyLabs, Cengage MindTap, McGraw Hill Connect, etc., will be formatted as the following (using VitalSource as the example):

Johnson, P. F., Leenders, M. R., & Flynn, A. E. (2015). Purchasing and supply management (15th ed.). Retrieved from https://www.vitalsource.com

The full-text version of this e-book is available through your online classroom. Students should be referred to their advisor for assistance with eBook questions, or they can review the support menus built into each eBook platform.

Hardcopy textbooks purchased from the online Bookstore.  The formatting for the Required Text available as a hardcopy textbook will look similar to the following:

Nemeth, C.P. (2011).  Reality of real estate (3rd ed.) Boston, MA: Pearson Prentice Hall

Students should be referred to their advisor for assistance with hardcopy books, or they can submit a ticket through the Help Center on the UAGC bookstore site.

No text is required. Some courses do not require the purchase of a textbook because they use library resources.  Example citation:
